Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has assembled a team of 13 experienced lawyers who are Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) to defend his victory in the presidential election on February 25.
A statement issued by APC National Legal Adviser Ahmad El-Marzuq on the team are legal luminaries with deep experience in election petition matters, constitutional law and litigation led by Lateef Fagbemi SAN.
El-Marzuq said Fagbemi has successfully handled various high-profile election matters and other landmark cases and expressed confidence that the team has the expertise and experience to win the case at the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal.
He urged APC members to support the team to defend the will and mandate of voters who elected Tinubu.
He also urged all parties to conduct themselves with the professionalism and respect for the rule of law throughout the legal process, per The PUNCH.

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party (LP) candidate Peter Obi are challenging Tinubu’s victory at the Court of Appeal, the court of first instance in the presidential election petition process.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced on March 1 that Tinubu won 8, 794,726 votes, Atiku (6, 984, 520), and Obi (6,101, 533).
