Fast-rising Afro-Fuji singer, Balogun Afolabi Oluwaloseyi, better known as Seyi Vibez has finally reacted to a trending social media narrative that he falsified his age.
In 2022, several online reports alleged that the upcoming artiste lied about his true age, saying he claimed to be 22 years when he was actually 10 years older.
Reacting via a post on Twitter, the ‘Chance’ crooner said he is just 22 years old and frowned at the false narrative constantly being spewed online that he is 32 years old.
To confirm his real age, Seyi Vibez shared the data page of his international passport, which revealed he was born on July 12, 2000.
He then shaded his critics, saying a 22-year-old boy was giving them a headache. He went on to declare he is an old man in the body of a young man.
He tweeted: “22 Year Old boy giving them headache !! Old man in a Boy – SV”
Responding to his claim, some netizens refused to accept that he is truly 22 years old, as they insisted the singer is 10 years older.
A tweep, @iampablo001 wrote: “22 ah bros Seyi .. Your childhood friends wey be 28-32 looking at you like.”
Another netizen, @logicfgs said: “22 and your mama don tell you all that ? Isaja isaja indeed.”
@dammiedammie35 added: “Seyi how can you be 22 years old?”
While @Perrymainee wrote: “You really deserve the fame you’re getting from your fans, just to say, if you can build up with the way you sing and be fluent, you’ll grow bigger…I’m a Yoruba Boy, I barely understand what you’re singing..no h@te fr no h@te.”
An internet user, @impeccable_iam, however, came to his defence saying: “This guy is actually 22. Grew up in my area in Ikorodu.”
