Nollywood actress, Chioma Akpotha, was attacked at her polling unit in Eti-Osa LGA, Lagos.
In an Instagram post, the film star broke down in tears while giving a live update about her polling unit at the Ikota primary school.
The actress said she had gone to cast her vote when thugs allegedly disrupted the ongoing election in her unit.
Apkotha said that she was abused and beaten by a fellow woman at the venue.
“I can’t believe this. Jesus! Look at what is going on, oh God! My fellow woman, I say I dey outside, this woman still touched me,” she wrote.
She also said that there was no presence of security agencies at the polling unit.
“Oh God! I feel so used, I feel abused. I can’t deal with this. Oh God. All the EFCC people that came, all the army guys that came earlier, where are they?”, Akpotha asked.
Similarly, rapper and actor, Folarin Falana, aka Falz and other voters were attacked at their polling units in Ikate, Lekki, and their phones seized by political thugs.
The thugs scattered the ballot papers, which they tore apart.
In a post on his Instastory, he confirmed that he has recovered his phone.
He, however, did not give details about the attack.
Falz also said he is fine while thanking fans for their concerns.
“Thanks to everyone checking. I’m fine, got my phone back as well! Still waiting to vote,” he said.
Out of the 18 presidential candidates, four are leading the race for the election.
They include Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
