Former Liverpool defender, Jamie Carragher has taken to social media to criticize two Liverpool players for letting the Reds down during their disappointing 3-0 league defeat to Wolves on Saturday.
Carragher took to his Twitter handle to single out Cameroon International, Joel Matip and English defender, Joe Gomez after their displays against Wolves, labelling it “shambolic.”
Matip began Liverpool’s scandalous outing by scoring an own goal as early as the 5th minute into the match.
The situation was compounded when Craig Dawson and Ruben Neves scored for the hosts, to secure all three points against Jurgen Klopp’s side at Molineux Stadium.
Matip and Gomez were clearly overwhelmed by Wolves attackers, and Liverpool legend, Carragher was visibly unhappy with the lack of initiative and discipline from the two defenders.
While expressing his frustration via his social media handle, Carragher tweeted:
“It’s not too difficult to play center-back next to the leader of the back four, judge center-backs when they have to lead themselves. Shambolic”
