President Muhammadu Buhari appears to be ready to help Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, win the February 25, 2023, presidential election after earlier appearing not to show keen interest in the campaigns.
In a move expected to leapfrog Tinubu’s presidential bid, Buhari has committed to lead the APC presidential campaign train to his home state, Katsina, as well as Sokoto, Yobe, Adamawa, Nasarawa, Imo, Cross River, Ogun, Lagos and Kwara States, Festus Keyamo SAN, Director of Public Affairs and Chief Spokesperson, Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, said in a statement early Friday. Mr Keyamo is also the current Minister of State, Labour and Employment.
If Tinubu wins Katsina and Sokoto or gets at least 45% of the total votes in the north west states, he is almost assured of winning the presidential race.
