Eleven All Progressive Congress councillors in Sumaila local government area have dumped the party and joined the New Nigeria People Party NNPP.
The Councilors announced their decamping in a statement issued on Wednesday.
The Councilors complained mistreatment and harassment of members by chairman of the local government council as the reason behind their movement from APC to NNPP.
The Councilors are Council leader, Mustapha Garba Haladu (Sumaila ward),
Deputy leader, Ibrahim Umar (Sitti Ward), Majority leader, Nuhu Ado Gala (Gala Ward), Chief Whip, Abubakar Ahmed (Magami ward), Ismail Sabiu Salisu (Gani Ward) and Ibrahim Abubakar (Massu Ward).
Others are Ma’amuru Nuhu (Rumo ward), Atiku Idris (Garfa ward), Umar Abdussalam (Kanana Ward), Sule Adamu (Rimi ward) and Danjuma Sale (Gediya ward).
The NNPP senatorial candidate in Kano south Kawu Sumaila had since presented the Councilors to party’s governorship candidate Abba Kabir Yusuf.
